For centuries, cathedrals have been centers for musical and artistic expression, helping to comfort, inspire, and refresh parishioners and visitors alike. The Cathedral of Saint Paul maintains this tradition with diverse music and arts programming that creates vitality for our community and neighborhood. It includes Cathedral Choir concerts and performances with the Cathedral Choir School of Minnesota, free presentations, and special events. We look forward to welcoming you!

The University of Minnesota University Singers, Chamber Singers, Men’s and Women’s Choruses perform music that celebrates the acoustic splendor of the Cathedral of Saint Paul in this annual presentation. Kathy Romey and Matthew Mehaffey, conductors.

Choir of King’s College, Cambridge (England)
The world-famous ensemble of men and boys, performs at the Cathedral during a final tour of the United States prior to the retirement of its leader for the past 37 years, Stephen Cleobury. Enjoy a wide spectrum of choral repertoire sung by one of the world’s foremost vocal ensembles. The public is cordially invited. Virtuoso Organist, David Briggs
Celebrated English virtuoso David Briggs http://www.david-briggs.org/ begins a week-long Minnesota residency with a performance of his dramatic and colorful solo transcription of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 (Tragic), showcasing the Cathedral’s two magnificent pipe organs. Admission to the general public is free/suggested $10 donation. Other appearances by Mr. Briggs, in totally different programs, will be at St. Olaf College (April 5) and Gustavus Adolphus College (April 9).

Palestrina Choir of Dublin
The Palestrina Choir from St. Mary’s pro-Cathedral in Dublin, had its origins in a boys’ choir formed in the 1890’s at St. Mary’s Place Christian Brothers School.
